The concept of trauma is often misunderstood. Many people associate trauma only with extreme events, like being shot, surviving a serious car accident, or experiencing a natural disaster.
However, trauma can stem from any negative experience so intense or distressing that it overwhelms our ability to process it.
To help us cope and survive, our psychological system may “bury” parts of these painful memories, hiding them from our conscious mind.
These buried fragments of unresolved experiences create emotional triggers, such as intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, heightened startle responses, nightmares or intense emotions. These triggers are clues that we may have unresolved trauma, which, if left unaddressed, can evolve into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Trauma therapy, EMDR Therapy, TIR, the BARS and CBT Therapy help individuals process these hidden elements of their experiences. The psychological stress, anxiety, and depression that come from experiencing, witnessing, or even hearing about a distressing event are what contribute to trauma-related disorders. People often slip into “survival” mode as a way to cope, rarely recognizing the accumulating impact until their coping mechanisms become exhausted. At this point, issues can start to spill over, affecting other aspects of life, especially relationships.
In some cases, individuals may avoid facing their trauma altogether, even if it means risking the loss of relationships.
As unresolved trauma continues to build, symptoms like chronic stress, anxiety, and depression begin to emerge, often intensifying over time. Many people often only seek help once these symptoms become overwhelming. Left ignored, however, these issues can worsen and develop into PTSD.

PTSD CAN OCCUR FROM THESE EXPERIENCES:
PTSD is a condition that develops from unprocessed traumatic incidents. The trauma was so stressful that the psychological system stores the stress "away" in order to cope and survive. The problem is that the suppressed stress causes all sorts of symptoms (mental, emotional, physical, financial, sexual, financial, spiritual), which become difficult to manage.
When you process the traumatic incidents, the symptoms and the diagnosis goes away.
Trauma therapy and EMDR therapy have you process an experience until it is resolved.
Most people believe that if they don't think about something then it must be resolved.
Not true!
Often people ignore, deny, suppress, repress and compartmentalize their experiences - so that they are "out of mind". This simply means that you have blocked it in your mind.
Trauma therapy has you choose a topic you would like to process. This includes talking about it, viewing the images in your mind, experiencing the emotions and body sensations that got attached to the incident and discharging the pent-up energy that is keeping the experience "alive" in your mind and your body.
Trauma therapy provides a safe environment for you to explore and process your thoughts and feelings about an event, which when psychologically processed, can reduce the disturbing symptoms such as: anger, fear, stress, anxiety & depression.

2. A body process called the BARS, that discharges all sorts of energies built up over the years (1.5 hour session)
3. UNBLOCKING: a process that has you talk about the distressing topic until all the details come up into your awareness and the stress is discharged
4. EMDR & TIR: a deeper form of processing that brings full resolution to an experience - so that you can finally put it behind you and it no longer affects you
